There is joy in living with a well-trained dog.  A canine companion who understands the normal rhythm of life in your home and in your daily activities makes not only for a happy owner, but results in a calm and content dog.  With few exceptions, dogs relish the chance to learn new skills and the time spent with their owner deepens the bond between human and K9.

Training your dog will build a special language that you share.  Training also provides your four-footed friend much-needed mental enrichment.  Dogs experience certain unique pressures from living in a human world which lead to anxiety, destructive chewers, digging and repetitive barking.  These not signs of a bad dog! Instead, these could be signs of a dog suffering from boredom or stress-related behaviors.

The bond you will develop with your canine companion, the countless skills she will learn and her good behaviors will pay off for the owner who approaches teaching with consistency, kindness and clear expectations.  There is something magical that appropriate training brings out in a dog and the resulting enthusiasm and confidence is unmistakable.

Students Success Stories

I inherited my son’s dog when he left for the Marines. Nan is a big, livestock guardian breed and she terrified me. Andrea worked one-on-one with us over a period of weeks and I was able to easily see what a cool dog she is. Poor thing just didn’t know what I wanted her to do. Now that we understand how to communicate, I can appreciate Nan for how wonderful she is. My son now loves getting updates on his girl.

With a new puppy, we enrolled in a puppy class taught by Andrea. Andrea ensured we were well-equipped for what normal puppy behaviour is during the different developmental stages. As a result, we were able to manage each stage with ease. We have gone on to work in some of the agility classes and it’s amazing how smart our dog is! A wonderful experience for us and our beloved Rocco.

Harsh training resulted in my dog, Ruby, shutting down and refusing to try. It has taken a lot of work to re-learn skills and a mountain of patience, but she is trusting me again and we will soon resume trialing in obedience. I have apologized a thousand times over to Ruby and we are both thankful for finding Andrea.
